Every time I think of jellyfish, I imagine their graceful movements—floating serenely in the water, their subtle light illuminating the vast, dark ocean. This light, I’ve often wondered, is it really coming from them, or is it something deeper within us—the conflict between light and darkness?

The Black Sea nettle jellyfish (Chrysaora achlyos) is an unforgettable image in my mind. Its tentacles drift like dark ribbons, blending into the blackness of the deep sea. Only its faint, golden glow stands out, shimmering softly in the depths. It’s a delicate dance between light and dark, something that inspired me when designing our black jellyfish lamp.

Despite their fragility and transparency, they possess an extraordinary ability to survive. With no brain, just a simple nerve network, they dance gracefully in the ocean, navigating its vastness with ease.
